Summary of Case:

"Christopher Lee Dixon was wrongly convicted of possession of a controlled substance in Harris County, Texas. Christopher Dixon pled guilty and was sentenced to 180 days in jail. After serving his sentence the evidence in Dixon's case was tested by the crime laboratory and it was found not to contain any controlled substance or dangerous drug. Based on the new evidence Dixon filed a habeas corpus petition to withdraw his guilty plea as involuntary, and although he had completed his sentence, he was suffering continuing consequences as a result of his conviction. The State didn't oppose Dixon's petition and the trial court recommended granting of his petition. On July 26, 2017 the Court of Criminal Appeals of Texas granted Christopher Dixonr's habeas petition to withdraw his guilty plea and ordered his conviction set-aside, based on post-conviction testing of the evidence in his case found it did not contain any controlled substance or dangerous drug."
