Summary of Case:

"Ross Dunn was a codefendant of Paul Alister & Tim Anderson. The three were known as the Ananda Marga Trio convicted in New South Wales, Australia of conspiring to murder Robert Cameron, the then leader of the National Front. A judicial inquiry conducted by Justice Wood in 1985 determined the three men were innocent. They were pardoned and released in 1985. The three defendants were compensated in 1987 with an ex gratia payment of $100,000 for 7 years wrongful imprisonment."

Conviction Caused By:

Erroneous testimony by special branch member named Richard Seary who was described by Supreme Court Justice Lionel Murphy as “the most unreliable person ever presented as the principle prosecution witness on a serious crime”.

Innocence Proved By:

The three codefendants were pardoned in 1985 based on new evidence of their innocence and released from prison.
