Summary of Case:	"Casey Ehrlick was wrongly convicted on October 6, 2015 of raping his autistic former girlfriend in Billings, Montana in October 2014. At the time Ehrlick was 19. Ehrlick's conviction after a jury trial, was based on the testimony of his former girlfrined and a sexual assault nurse that when examined two days after the alleged assault she found abrasions and other injuries consistent with a sexual assault. A defense expert who examined the medical evidence testified that he found no physical evidence of an assault. Prior to Ehrlick's sentencing the alleged victim told her counselor that Ehrlick didn't assault her, and when questioned by the police she said she had no memory of her trial testimony or what she told her counselor. Based on the new evidence undermining the credibility of the woman's trial testimony, Ehrlick filed a motion for a new trial. The motion was granted on May 19, 2016, and Ehrlick was released from custody on bond. A motion by the Yellowstone County DA's Office to dismiss the charges was granted on June 20, 2016."
