"Posthumously exonerated by the Israeli Supreme Court in June 2009 of a 2003 murder. Yonatan Elzam was primarily convicted based on his confession to the crime, and he was sentenced to life in prison. On December 13, 2005 23-year-old Elzam was killed by a prison guard the night before he was scheduled to testify as a witness for the prosecution in a murder trial."
