Summary of Case:

"Scott Fappiano was wrongly convicted in 1985 of a 1983 rape of a New York policeman's wife in Brooklyn. His first trial in 1984 ended in a hung jury that voted 11 to 1 for acquittal. He was convicted the next year. DNA testing of the rapist's semen that was unavailable at the time of Fappiano's trial excluded him. The NY Medical Examiner confirmed on October 5, 2006, that Fappiano was excluded as the source of the semen, and he was released the next day, on October 6, 2006, by order of a Brooklyn judge. Scott Fappiano was wrongly imprisoned for 21 years."
