"Justin Finch was wrongly convicted of possession of a controlled substance -- amphetamine -- weighing less than one gram, in Harris County, Texas. Finch was sentenced to 1 year in prison. A post-conviction analysis of the substance showed that the amphetamine in his possession was a United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved substance. Based on the new evidence Finch filed a habeas corpus petition that the trial judge recommended by granted. On September 14, 2016 the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals granted Finch's petition."
