Summary of Case: |
"Gregory Fisher was wrongly convicted in 2002 of sexually assaulting his minor daughter in 2001 in Detroit, Michigan. Fisher's prosecution was based on the testimony of his daughter. Fisher was sentenced to 15 to 30 years in prison. Post-conviction DNA testing excluded Fisher as the source of sperm recovered from his daughter. Based on the new exclusionary DNA evidence Fisher filed a petition for a new trial that was granted. A motion by the Wayne County District Attorney's Office to dismiss the charges against Fisher was granted on April 10, 2017 and he was released." |
