Summary of Case:

Lloyd Fogelman was wrongly convicted in 1928 based on a fingerprint examiner's fabrication of evidence that the fingerprint of Lloyd Fogelman was found on a windowsill at the scene of burglary of an apartment. Lloyd Fogelman was convicted and sentenced to prison. A post-conviction review of the fingerprint photo by respected fingerprint expert Eddie Parker at the inistence of Fogelman's wife proved there was no pressure distortion of the fingerprint where Fogelman was alleged to have hoisted himself by a second floor window ledge into the dwelling. Based on the new evidence Fogelman's conviction was overturned. During his retrial Eddie Parker testified about his findings and Fogelman was acquitted and released from prison. No action was ever taken against the fingerprint officer who had fabricated the evidence against Fogelman.
