Summary of Case:	"Anthony Jonathan France was wrongly convicted in 2015 of aiding and abetting misconduct in public office in 2011 in England. Anthony France was a reporter for The Sun newspaper when he was arrested on January 17, 2013 and charged after paying about $35,000 to a police officer at Heathrow Airport for inside information about drunk pilots, weapon and drug seizures, and terrorists. After his conviction by a jury France was sentenced to an 18 month suspended prison term. France appealed. France argued he didn't know it was illegal to pay for the information, and that the jury wasn't properly instructed about constituted the crimes he was convicted of committing. On October 27. 2016 the Court of Criminal Appeals quashed France's conviction in ruling: “The appeal of Anthony France will be allowed and his conviction will be quashed. The Court also ruled that it was “not in the public interest to secure a retrial.” France's source,police officer Tim Edwards, pled guilty to misconduct and was sentenced to two years in prison."
