Summary of Case:	"Sherri Frederick wrongly pled guilty on October 1, 2010 to possession of .27 grams of crack cocaine in Houston, Texas. She was sentenced to six months in jail. On February 23, 2011 the Houston PD crime lab's test report came back negative for cocaine. Based on the new evidence she was released from jail on March 10, 2011 after approximately six months in custody. A heas corpus petition was jointly filed by the Harris County DA's Office and Frederick's lawyers and on September 28, 2011 the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals vacated her conviction based on her actual innocence. The charge was dismissed on February 24, 2012. Frederick filed a compensation claim for wrongful imprisonment and in March 2012, she was awarded $40,000. and In March 2012 Frederick was awarded $40,000 in compensation by the Texas State Comptroller's Office. "
