Summary of Case:	"Harold Freeman aka Hal Freeman, was wrongly convicted of pandering for producing adult movies that involved paying women and men to have sex on camera. Freeman's conviction was affirmed by the California Court of Appeal, but it was overturned by the California Supreme Court in 1988. The Court ruled that California's pandering statute did not criminalize the hiring of actors for non-obscene adult films. Consequently, the actions he was convicted of committing did not constitute a crime. In 1989 the U.S. Supreme Court declined to review the case. (California v. Freeman, 488 U.S. 1311 (1989))"
