Summary of Case:	"Nicole Ann Fullerton was wrongly convicted in October 2006 of three counts of obtaining money by false pretences and fraudulent conversion, and sentenced on March 1, 2007 to 12 months imprisonment. Nicole Fullerton was the operation manager of Caldon Finance Group when the company failed in 1998. One of the investors in the company who US$139,000 and J$10 million. The loss of that money was the basis of the criminal charges against Fullerton on the theory she was personally responsible for security of the invested money. She was released on J$6 million bail pending the outcome of her appeal. On June 15, 2009 Jamaica's Court of Appeal overturned Fullerton's convictions. The appeals court ruled there was no proof Fullerton knew about the company's pending collapse nor was the money entrusted to her personally. Instead, the money was entrusted to Caldon FG, so it was legally responsible for the lost investments."
