Summary of Case:	"Gregory Givans was wrongly convicted of assaulting a person in February 2005 who was giving a policeman a statement about a traffic accident. Three years after the incident the victim identified Gregory Givans as the policeman who assaulted him. Givans was convicted in April 2008 of assault causing bodily harm, Givans was convicted to six months in prison, but he was released on bail pending the outcome of his appeal. Givans' conviction was overturned on February 18, 2009 by Jamaica's Court of Appeal, on the basis that the victim's identification after three years was unreliable."
