Summary of Case:

"Antoine Goff was the co-defendant of John Tennison. Both men were wrongly convicted of a gang war murder in San Francisco, California. Antoine Goff was sentenced to 27 years to life in prison, and Tennison was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison. Goff's conviction was vacated by a federal judge in August 2003, based on the prosecution's concealment of exculpatory evidence that could have proved Goff's innocence. John Tennison was then released on September 2, 2003 after almost 14 years of wrongful imprisonment. Both men filed separate federal civil rights lawsuits against the City of San Francisco, the SFPD and several officers. In July 2009 the City of San Francisco agreed to settle the lawsuits by paying Goff $2.9 million and Tennison $4.6 million. The State of California denied compensation to both men."
