Summary of Case:

"Dominick Carollo, Steven Goldberg, and Peter Grimm were wrongly convicted in May 2012 of wire fraud and conspiracy. On October 18, 2012 Goldberg was sentenced to four years in prison and a fine of $90,000, and Grimm and Carollo were sentenced to three years in prison and a fine of $50,000. The convictions of the three defendants were overturned by the U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals on November 26, 2013, and the Court announced it would release its reasons for doing so later. The three men were released from custody on November 27, 2013, the day before Thanksgiving. On December 9, 2013 the appeals court released its written majority (2-1) decision that the prosecution of the three men was barred by the statute of limitations, and ordered dismissal of their indictment."
