Summary of Case:	"William Gerard Gorman was the co-defendant of Patrick Martin McKinney. Both men wrongly convicted of charges related to the murder of an RUC officer in Belfast, NI. They were jointly charged and convicted of murder, possession of firearms and ammunition, causing an explosion, possession of explosive substances, and belonging to a proscribed organisation. In 1997 McKinney and Gorman submitted applications to the Criminal Case Review Commission (CCRC) for review of his conviction as a miscarriage of justice. McKinney's case was referred by the CCRC on 8/03/1998 to the England and Wales Court of Appeal (Criminal Division). On October 29, 1999 the appeals court quashed Patrick McKinney and William Gorman's convictions. "
