Summary of Case:	"Ante Gotovina and Mladen Markac were Croatian generals wrongly convicted in 2011 of crimes against humanity allegedly committed against civilians during the 1992-95 siege of Sarajevo. Gotovina was sentenced to 24 years in prison, and Markac was sentenced to 18 years in prison. On November 16, 2012 the appeals chamber of the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia acquitted the two defendants on the basis the prosecution introduced insufficient evidence to support their convictions. Gotovina was released after seven years in custody from the time of his arrest in 2005, and Markac was released after eight years in custody from the time of his arrest in 2004,"
