"Araceli Cremata Granda was wrongly convicted of failing to file a Customs reporting form as she entered the United States at Miami on a flight from Panama. On January 9, 1978 the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals vacated Granda's conviction and ordered her acquittal on the basis she had no knowledge of a legal requirement to file the report and hence she could have had no intent to violate the law."
