Summary of Case:

"David Wayne Grannis was wrongly convicted in May 1991 of a murder committed near Tucson Arizona in August 1989. Grannis was sentenced to death. Prior to Grannis' retrial a witness came forward who testified neither Grannis nor a prosecution witness at his first trial were present when Grannis' codefendant Daniel Wester confessed to the murder. The charges were dismissed against Grannis on November 6, 1996 and he was released. Webster was retried and sentenced to life in prison after his reconviction."
