Green was exonerated and released in 2008 after 2 years and 3 months in prison. Green was awarded total compensation of $214,860 ($7,500 paid immediately for purchase of a vehicle and $864 paid monthly for 20 years -- from an annuity purchased for $134,500 (The award was $142,000 - $7,500 for the vehicle and $134,500 for the purchase of the annuity.) In addition the state awarded Green's lawyers $39,000 in legal fees." |
