Summary of Case:	"James Grissom was wrongly convicted in 2003 of raping Sara Ylen in Fort Gratiot, Michigan in 2001. Ylen didn't report the rape for a year, and she identified Grissom when she saw him in her rearview mirror while driving. The only evidence against Grissom was Ylen's testimony. After the jury convicted Grissom he was sentenced to 15 to 35 years in prison. Based on new evidence that Ylen had lied about at least nine assaults in California. Grissom's motion for a new trial based on the new evidence of Ylen's lack of credibility as a witness was unopposed by the St. Clair County DA, and he was released hours after it was granted on November 21, 2013. Ylen was later charged with filing a false rape report in 2012 and tampering with evidence. Ylen's trial was scheduled to begin on December 3, 2013. In a separate case in Sanilac County, Michigan Ylen is charged with fraud related to collecting money for falsely claiming she had cancer."
