Summary of Case:	"Wrongly convicted on February 26, 2010 of multiple child abuse charges that his step-daughter complained in 2006 that he committed between 1984 and 1989 when she was between 11 and 15 years old. The 58-year-old man only identified as HAZ, was sentenced to 4 years in prison to be suspended after serving two years. HAZ's defense is the alleged acts never occurred -- so it was a he said she said case, since no one corroborated the woman's accounts of abuse. On September 17, 2010, the Queensland Court of Appeal acquitted HAZ on the ground there was no evidence corroborating the woman's account that was contrary to known evidence. The Court ruled, 'However the evidence as a whole points strongly to the conclusion that its members [the jury] were confused about the manner of assessing facts and the application of the onus of proof.' HAZ was released after serving 7 months of his sentence."
