Summary of Case:	"Wrongly convicted of murdering one of the crewmen on his boat in 1994, and sentenced to life in prison in 1995. Paroled in 2004 after almost 10 years imprisonment. Conviction quashed by New Zealand's Court of Appeal and a retrial barred on August 23, 2006. The appeals court found there was an "evidential basis" to suggest Mr Haig's nephew and crewmate, David Hogan, may have been the killer. In February 2009 New Zealand's Justice Minister Simon Power announced that Haig's claim for compensation was rejected."
