"Paula D. Hall was wrongly convicted on February 4, 2009 of second-degree murder in the November 2003 death of Freda Heyn at her home in Oldfield, Missouri. Hall was sentenced to 20 years in prison. In June 2011 Hall filed a state habeas corpus petition based on new evidence the prosecutions withheld material evidence from her trial lawyers and that a prosecution witness was improperly presurred to testify. Her petition was granted and that ruling was affirmed by Missouri's Court of appeal on May 1, 2013. Paula Hall was acquitted on October 8, 2013 by Judge Michael Cordonnier after her retrial without a jury." |
