Summary of Case: |
"Matthew Hammonds was wrongly convicted of abusing his wife's corpse after she died in May 2008, based on the fact that he waited eight hours to call the police. Hammonds was sentenced to six years in prison. On June 2, 2010 the Arkansas Court of Appeals ruled that delaying to notify the police of his wife's death wasn't corpose abuse, and there was insufficient evidence that Hammonds abused his wife's corpse, so it ordered the indictment dismissed." |
