"Ove Thomas Hansen was wrongly convicted of murdering his wife. A Danish TV station (Denmark Radio) made a documentary - "The Police Blind Eye" - about the poor police investigation that was aired on April 19, 1991. This led to a new trial that resulted in Ove Thomas Hansen's acquittal. He was released after 7½ years of wrongful imprisonment. His wife's killer has never been found. Hansen was compensated in December 1993 with about US$1 million (6.5 million Danish Kroners)"
