"Gerald Harris was wrongly convicted in November 1992 of a robbery committed on December 18, 1991 in Queens County, New York. Harris was sentenced to 9 to 18 years in prison. The charges against Harris were dismissed on December 15, 2000 based on the confession by Harris' brother Harold, and other man, that they were the robbers, and Gerald wasn't involved. Harris sued the State of New York, and the Court of Claims awarded him $3,010,000 in wrongful imprisonment compensation."
