Summary of Case:	"Joseph Hazel was wrongly convicted in April 2004 of the 2000 murder of a businessman on holiday at his St Kitts holiday home in January 2000. Hazel was sentenced to death by hanging. In February 2007 the Eastern Caribbean Court of Appeal quashed Joseph Hazel's conviction on the basis that there was insufficient evidence to support his conviction. The Court said he never should have went to trial. Hazel had been arrested in 2001, and he was released on bail in late 2006, pending the outcome of his appeal. He was wrongly imprisoned for almost six years, including three years while awaiting trial."
