Summary of Case: |
"Lewis Hill was wrongly convicted of burglary after a bench trial in 2008. After an automobile accident Lewis Hill went to the home of the driver of the other car to talk about the accident. The other driver came after Hill with a knife so Hill hit him with a baseball bat. New Zealand's Court of Appeal on February 27, 2009 decided there was insufficient evidence that Hill had intended to commit a crime when he went to the home of the other driver and acquitted him." |
