Summary of Case:	"Nguyen Minh Hung was wrongly convicted of “trading drugs illegally” after being arrested in May 2003 for allegedly being involved in a Cambodia-Vietnam drug smuggling ring. Nguyen Hung was convicted of trafficking 8 kg of heroin based on a drug dealers testimony. The People’s Court of southern Tay Ninh Province sentenced Hung to death. Hung's conviction was overturned, but he was reconvicted in 2007 after a retrial and again sentenced to death. On June 13, 2008 the Tay Ninh Province People’s Court overturned Hung's conviction and he was released from death row, based on an investigation of his case by the provincial Investigation Police Agency that determined there was no evidence of his guilt, and the drug dealers recantation that she picked Hung randomly because she was under pressure by police to name accomplices. In November 2008 the People's Court officially apologized to Hung."
