Summary of Case:	"Anwar Ibrahim was wrongly convicted on March 4, 2014 of committing sodomy in 2008 and he was sentenced to five years imprisonment. Ibrahim had been acquitted at trial, but Malaysia's Court of Appeal reversed his acquittal and found him guilty and sentenced him. On February 10, 2015 the Federal Court of Malaysia upheld the Court of Appeal's rulings. Ibrahim was immediately taken into custody and sent to Sungai Buloh Prison, Selangor. Ibrahim was released from custody on May 16, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. and he had an audience with the King of Malaysia who granted him a full royal pardon on the basis his conviction was a “miscarriage of justice.” "
