"Salim Issah was wrongly convicted of committing robbery with violence in 2001, and sentenced to hang. In July 2003 the Appeals Court upheld the conviction. See, Elirema & Another v. Republic (2003) KLR 537. In February 2007 Kenya's High Court quashed the conviction and entered a judgment of acquittal based on the contradictory evidence given by the complainant."
