"Allen Iverson was wrongly convicted of assault as part of a mob in July 1993 at a Hampton, Virginia bowling allwey. Iverson, a future NBA basketball player, was a high school student being recruited by over 125 colleges at the time of the incident. Iversen was sentenced to 15 years in prison. Iversen He served four months in the Newport News City Farm before he was granted conditional clemency on Dec. 31, 1993 by Virginia's Governor Douglas Wilder. On June 20, 1995 the Virginia Court of Appeals vacated Iversen's conviction." |
