"John William Jackson was wrongly convicted in of first-degree murder and armed burglary related to the murder of Marie Felver Porter on December 19, 1983 in Plant City, Florida. After his conviction by a jury John Jackson was sentenced to life imprisonment with a 25 year minimum before parole. Jackson appealed. In 1957 the Florida Cistrict Court of Appeals reversed Jackson's conviction on the basis the prosecution failed to introduce sufficient evidence to prove his guilt of every essential element beyond a reasonable doubt."
