"Wrongly convicted in June 2004 of the 2002 murder of the wife of her lover, a former Iranian soccer star and prominent soccer coach. She was sentenced to death by hanging. In 2005 the Iran's Supreme Court upheld her conviction and death sentence and she was believed in danger of being imminent execution. In February 2008 her conviction was overturned and a new investigation into the murder was ordered by the judge. She was not immediately released. She was 32 when arrested in 2002."
