"Henry James was wrongly convicted in 1982 of the rape of a woman in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, based on victim's testimony identifying him as her assailant. On September 26, 2011 DNA testing of evidence that had been preserved excluded James as the woman's assailant. A motion to vacate James' conviction was granted and he was released on October 21, 2011 after more than 29 years in prison. In 2012 Henry James was awarded $330,000 by the State of Louisiana -- $250,000 for his wrongful incarceration and $80,000 for his "loss of life opportunities.""
