"Vladimir Jeanty was wrongly convicted in 2010 of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance in Nassau County, New York in 2009. After Jeanty's conviction he served 2-1/2 years in prison before his release on parole. Jeanty filed a post-conviction petition to reverse his conviction and for a new trial based on the discovery that the Nassau County District Attorney's Office did not disclose exculpatory evidence prior to his trial.
