Summary of Case:	"Jasvin Jhuboo was wrongly convicted on January 14, 2013 of the burglary of a house in Bermuda's Smith Parish. Jhuboo, a Mauritan national working in Bermuda, was drunk when he entered a house that he thought was his. The judge found him guilty based on the fact he had entered the house without permission was sufficient to establish his guilt. Jhuboo appealed, and on April 15, 2013 the Bermuda Supreme Court quashed his conviction and ordered his acquittal based on the the prosecution's failure to introduce any evidence that Jhuboo entered the house with the specific intent to burglarize it, which is an essential element of Section 43 of Bermuda's Criminal Code. Jhuboo's conviction was overturned prior to sentencing, and he was free on bail pending the outcome of his appeal."
