Summary of Case:	"Robert John Sharpley was wrongly convicted of manslaughter in November 2010 of the death of a man in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia on May 30, 2009. Sharpley admitted he had encountered the victim on the evening of his death, but denied having anything to do with his death. The jury convicted Sharpley and he was sentenced to 8 years in prison. On June 14, 2011 Sharpley's conviction was quashed and he was ordered acquitted by the Queensland Court of Appeals on the grounds that no definitive cause of death in the case and that a defence of self defence had not been disproved by the Crown. Sharpley was jailed from May 30, 2009 until Decembre 24, 2009 when he was released on bail, and then from November 3, 2010 until June 14, 2011 when he was acquitted on appeal. He was incarcerated for a total of about 15 months."
