Summary of Case:	"Ian Douglas Johnson was wrongly convicted in 2014 in South Australia of two counts of rape as an adult the last of which allegedly occurred in 1984, and an alleged indecent assault of his younger sister that allegedly occurred 50 years earlier, prior to December 1964 when he was about 10. Johnson's prosecution for indecent assault was based on the testimony of his sister, who first reported it on May 27, 2008 -- 44 years after it allegedly occurred. After Ian Johnson was convicted by a jury he appealed. On November 24, 2015 the South Australia Court of Criminal Appeal quashed the verdicts and substituted verdicts of acquittal on the basis there was insufficient evidence to support those convictions. Johnson's case became final on October 17, 2018 when the High Court of Australia denied his appeal related to his conviction -- during the same trial -- of a count of carnal knowledge that occurred when he was aged 17."
