Summary of Case:	"Rickey Johnson was wrongly convicted in January 1983 of a July 1982 rape in Sabine Parish, Louisiana based on his initial identification by the victim from an eight year old photo, which was only one of three photos shown to her. Rickie Johnson was sentenced to life in prison. Johnson's conviction was vacated and he was released on January 11, 2008, after DNA tests unavailable at the time of his conviction excluded him as the rapist.He was wrongly imprisoned for 25-1/2 years. In July 2008 Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal approved payment of the maximum $150,000 allowed by the state wrongful conviction compensation statue. In 2012 Rickey Johnson was awarded an additional $100,000 for his wrongful incarceration by the State of Louisiana after it increased its maximum payment to $250,000, plus an additional $40,000 for "loss of life opportunities.""
