"Elizabeth Johnson was wrongly convicted of witchcraft in Salem, Massachusetts during what is now known as the Salem Witch Trials. After Elizabeth was found guilty of witchcraft and sentenced to death in January 1693, she petitioned Massachusetts Governor Phips for clemency which he granted and she was released. Elizabeth Johnson was exonerated in 1712."
