Summary of Case:	"Morris S. Jones was wrongly convicted in 1998 of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and sentenced to 15 years in prison. Jones' conviction was vacated by the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals in 2001 after he filed a habeas corpus petition based on new evidence establishing his "actual innocence" of the crime..The prosecutor then moved to dismiss the charges in the interests of justice and the trial court dismissed the charges. In November 2005 the Texas Court of Appeals affirmed a lower court ruling that Jones couldn't sue the state for compensation because he had already been denied compensation under the state's compensation statute."
