"Richard Neal Jones was wrongly convicted in 1983 of first-degree murder in the death of Charles Keene on January 23, 1983 in Grady County, Oklahoma. After his conviction by a jury Jones was sentenced to death. On May 22, 1987 the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals reversed Jones' conviction on the basis the trial judge erred by admitting hearsay evidence and prejudicial crime scene photographs. Richard Jones was acquitted after his retrial in 1988."
