Summary of Case:	"Tyrone Jones was wrongly convicted in 1999 of conspiracy to commit murder in the June 1998 shooting death of 15-year-old Tyree Wright in Baltimore. There were two eyewitnesses who provided conflicting testimony, but the key evidence was expert testimony that Jones had gunshot residue on his hand. Jones was sentenced to life in prison. In 2004 Jones discovered that the expert testimony by Joseph Harant was based on a single microscopic sample that only had two elements of gun powder. Jones filed a motion for a new trial based on the prosecution's failure to disclose a one page report concerning the gunshot evidence. Tyrone Jones was granted a new trial on January 29, 2010, based on the failure to disclose the report and new evidence that gunshot resideue analysis is not a reliable "science." Jones was released on $50,000 bail in January. The charges were dismissed on May 25, 2010. Jones was wrongly imprisoned for 11-1/2 years."
