Summary of Case:

"William Jordan was wrongly convicted in 1934 of second-degree murder in Geneva County, Alabama. Jordan's prosecution was based on circumstantial evidence. After his conviction by a jury Jordan was sentenced to 25 years in prison. In 1935 the Alabama Supreme Court reversed Jordan's conviction because there was only "a remote possibility" he was guilty because there was no motive and all the evidence against him was circumstancial. The charges were dismissed against Jordan a month after the Court's ruling."
