Summary of Case:	"Ham Ju-myeong was wrongly convicted in 1983 of spying for North Korea. Released in 1998 during a general amnesty. After a retrial in July 2005, Ham Ju-myeong was acquitted. In September 2005 he was awarded compensation of $320,000 (U.S.) for 16 years of wrongful imprisonment. The government appealed the award, and on November 5, 2006, the appeals court ruled in Ju-Myeong's favor and increased the award to $1.4 million (U.S.) (1.4 billion won (South Korean)."
