Summary of Case:

"Steven R. Kaminski was wrongly convicted in November 1992 of sexual assault. Steven Kaminski's defense was that the sex was consensual with his co-worker. Kaminski's conviction was affirmed on direct appeal in 1994. Kaminski's conviction was quashed in January 2003 a new trial ordered after evidence was discovered that the woman had sex several times with the Canadian Mountie who investigated her complaint in 1992, and with one of the witnesses who testified against Kaminski. Awarded compensation of $2.2 million (Canadian) in the fall of 2006 by the Canadian federal government."
