"Arun Kapil was wrongly convicted on March 22, 2016 of rash driving, causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others, and causing death by negligence. A passenger on the motorcycle, Vinod Kumar, died from his injuries at the Government Multi-Specialty Hospital. After his conviction Kapil was sentenced to two years in prison and fined Rs 10,000. Kapil was allowed to remain free pending his appeal. On March 7, 2017 Kapil's convictions were set-aside by the Additional District and Sessions Judge R.K. Jain.
