Summary of Case:	"Kostadin Karchav was wrongly convicted on April 11, 2016 of money laundering in The Bahamas. Karchav's conviction was based on his alleged laundering of BAM$51,000 through the Royal Bank of Canada in The Bahamas. After his conviction by a majority 7-2 jury vote, Karchav was sentenced to two years in prison, with credit from the time of his arrest and incarceration on February 14, 2015. While his appeal was pending, Karchav was released from prison on October 30, 2016. Karchav was a native of Bulgaria, and returned upon his release from prison. Karchav returned to The Bahamas for hearings related to his appeal in the Court of Appeals in June and July 2017. On July 27, 2017 The Bahamas Court of Appeals quashed Kostadin Karchav's convictions, and did not order a retrial."
